Overview
Lead Software Engineer role focused on designing, developing, and supporting enterprise-scale database and data integration solutions for Stock Plan Services within the Workplace Investing Technology organization.
What you'll do
- Deliver highly performant, scalable, and reliable database and data integration solutions.
- Design and develop enterprise-grade Oracle database applications, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data processing frameworks.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, consistency, and availability across business-critical applications and platforms.
- Improve operational stability through proactive monitoring, automation, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
- Optimize database performance and large-scale data processing workloads through effective SQL tuning and performance engineering.
- Translate business requirements into efficient and maintainable data solutions.
- Establish and promote database engineering best practices, development standards, and reusable frameworks.
- Mentor and guide engineers through knowledge sharing, technical reviews, and engineering excellence initiatives.
- Reduce operational risk through robust controls, validation mechanisms, auditing processes, and preventive solutions.
- Deliver trusted data capabilities that enable informed business decisions and exceptional customer experiences.
What you'll need
- 5-8 years of experience in Database Development, Data Engineering, or ETL development.
- 6-8 years of IT experience.
- Strong expertise in Oracle Database, PL/SQL, and advanced SQL, including performance tuning and query optimization.
- Proficiency in Python for automation, data processing, and ETL development.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, database design, and relational database concepts.
- Experience building and supporting ETL/ELT pipelines using Informatica, SnapLogic, or similar tools.
- Experience with Oracle, PLSQL and enterprise database technologies.
- Knowledge of data integration, data quality, validation, reconciliation, and auditing processes.
- Familiarity with GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment practices.
- Ability to design and deliver scalable, high-performance database and data solutions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to influence across teams, mentor engineers, and contribute to a high-performing engineering culture.
- Exposure to containerization technologies and cloud deployment models.
- Knowledge of event-driven architectures and messaging platforms.
