Lead Staff Engineer SDET

Overview

Lead Staff Engineer SDET role focused on ensuring product quality through API and UI test automation for the OpenBlue Edge platform, which covers edge computing and ML model deployment at the edge.

What you'll do

• Drive test plan reviews.
• Help correct existing coding standards and/or define improved ones.
• Develop test automation according to functional and technical design specifications.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and provide code fixes for reported problems in test scripts and change requests.
• Participate in technical discussions; propose solutions and alternatives.
• Interact with Architects and other Sr members of the team to ensure the solution fits the overall architecture.
• Develop proof-of-concept prototypes and provide work estimates.
• Aid developers and support personnel in determining system problems.
• Adhere to JCI policies, guidelines and procedures for protecting information assets and to JCI product security standards for secured software development.
• Use software only in accordance with JCI licensing agreements.
• Report all information security incidents, alerts, warnings and suspected vulnerabilities in a timely manner, sharing them only with authorized personnel.

What you'll need

• B.Tech. or M.Tech. in Computer Science.
• 9-11 years of experience in software product testing and automation.
• Ability to perform as an individual contributor and willingness to step up as a hands-on technical lead as required.
• Experience on Windows and Linux platforms.
• Expert level coding skills in Python, pytest, Selenium or Protractor, and Playwright.
• Minimum 2 years of work experience on automation.
• Experience and knowledge of GitHub and Scrum methodology.
• Experience working with globally distributed teams.
• Good verbal and written communication in English, with the ability to express and understand complex technical concepts.
• Can-do attitude and initiative to start and complete assigned activities.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of protocols such as MQTT, Modbus, OPCUA/DA, and BACnet.
