Leader, Software Engineering

Overview

Lead and scale a high-performing engineering team responsible for Dashboard development and integration for cloud-managed and on-prem wireless networking solutions. Drive execution across Dashboard layers, shape technical direction, and ensure delivery of high-quality wireless solutions.

What you'll do

• Lead a team of software engineers in the design, development, and implementation of products or foundational technology, including cloud development and scalable systems.
• Lead teams working on large features from technical design through completion.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure technical standards, potentially with external technology providers and internal technology dependencies.
• Contribute to and maintain processes and standards for design reviews, security, and testing.
• Provide feedback and insight into standards and practices while identifying areas for improvement in process, architecture, design, and security.
• Consider all aspects of security, from secure development practices to proper security architecture functionality.
• Lead large and/or complex projects from requirements to completion.
• Manage product- and system-level tradeoffs and design decisions to drive quality and consistency; update team priorities as appropriate.
• Be accountable for product quality within the area of responsibility and make recommendations regarding issues, opportunities, and improvements, focusing on quality and performance.
• Contribute to product roadmap discussions, provide schedules and resource estimates, and drive successful project and/or product development.
• Lead discussions with customers and/or stakeholders to explain solutions, gather feedback, and work with cross-functional teams to reflect feedback in design decisions and deployment.
• Work cross-functionally with Product Management, Operations, QA Firmware, Software, Mechanical, and Vendors to define, drive, and deliver key projects in a timely manner.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree and 15 years of related experience, or Master's degree and 12 years of related experience, or PhD and 8 years of related experience.
• 4+ years of supervisory experience.
• Experience leading development and test teams working on a technology stack including Kubernetes, Ruby on Rails, React JS, Postgress SQL, automation frameworks, Python, and Cypress.
• Demonstrated ability to partner with Product, UX, QA, and Operations to align technical execution with business objectives.
