Software Engineering Manager

Overview

Lead a cross-functional software engineering team delivering and modernizing a scalable payments platform. Combine people leadership with hands-on technical guidance across architecture, code quality, delivery, and operations.

What you'll do

• Lead engineers designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining the payments platform.
• Mentor engineers through one-to-ones, feedback, and stretch opportunities.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership through pairing, design sessions, and critical issue resolution.
• Guide architectural evolution toward cloud-native and event-driven systems.
• Translate business requirements into functional, scalable solutions with Product teams.
• Unblock delivery, reduce technical debt, and streamline engineering processes.
• Lead incident management and promote resilient architecture and operational excellence.

What you'll need

• Proven experience leading and developing high-performing software engineering teams.
• Hands-on experience writing clean, scalable, performant, high-quality code.
• Deep expertise in modern software engineering practices.
• Experience with cloud platforms and DevOps, including test and deployment automation.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Collaborative approach with a passion for learning and problem-solving.

Nice to have

• Experience with highly transactional, highly available, low-latency systems.
• Experience with C#/.NET.
• Experience with MSSQL.
