Legal Intern (Practicante / Becario de Derecho)

Overview

Sezzle is seeking a Legal Intern to join the Legal Operations team and work directly with the US Legal Team, supporting day-to-day legal requests, documents and matters.

What you'll do

• Support the US Legal Team with day-to-day requests
• Review and organize legal documents such as agreements, notices, and liens, and flag anything unusual
• Draft standard documents and templates under the supervision of counsel
• Keep the legal database current: contracts, filings, and corporate records
• Own trackers for legal matters and deadlines, and send clear status updates
• Coordinate with Compliance, Finance, Operations, and outside counsel to gather what each matter needs
• Write simple checklists and playbooks so repeatable legal work runs smoothly

What you'll need

• Currently pursuing, or recently completed, a degree in Law (Derecho) or a related field
• Advanced written and spoken English
• Strong attention to detail and organization; you keep deadlines without being reminded
• Clear written communication and good judgment with confidential information
• Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
• Comfortable using AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT to boost productivity, research, and communication

Nice to have

• Exposure to US legal concepts or experience supporting US law firms
• Experience with project management tools (Jira, Asana, Notion, or similar)
• Interest in fintech, payments, or consumer lending

• Paid, fully remote internship
• Compensation: $800 USD monthly as an independent contractor
