Overview
Maintain and lead utilities and HVAC systems for process-intensive manufacturing environments, including installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, compliance and continuous improvement activities.
What you'll do
- Lead MEP works in manufacturing construction projects.
- Install and commission utilities and utility setups, including large centralized HVAC systems, screw chillers, air handling units, humidity chambers and dehumidifiers.
- Dismantle and assemble large compressors.
- Maintain chilled water pumps, AHUs, HVAC systems, cooling towers and brine chillers.
- Read and draw refrigeration circuits for troubleshooting.
- Read drawings, engineering specifications and tolerances.
- Calculate heating and cooling needs, interpret and draft plans, calculate ventilation requirements and determine budget costs.
- Take measurements and calculate and establish quantities and associated costs for contractor bills.
- Work with Environment, Health and Safety standards, ISO and OHSAS standards, and internal and external audits.
- Work with multiple contractors at site.
- Provide technical direction and on-the-job training.
- Handle government agencies and local authorities or agencies.
- Create change management and scope management for non-tendered items.
- Apply simple but effective quality tools to solve problems.
- Manage clean-room requirements, including ISO standards, temperature and relative humidity, air changes, fresh-air systems, air balancing and filtration systems.
- Manage positive- and negative-temperature cold rooms, including HVAC operating logic, fire suppression systems and spill management systems.
- Identify and troubleshoot HVAC system problems.
- Manage Hoshin Kanri targets, KPIs, continual improvement programs, MTTR, MTBF, preventive-maintenance implementation, spare-parts management and statutory compliance.
- Manage building management systems, SCADA systems and HVAC systems during fire emergencies.
- Follow a culture of continuous improvement and learning.

What you'll need
- Diploma in Mechanical or BE in Mechanical Engineering.
- 8 ~ 10 years of experience in a process-intensive manufacturing industry.
- Work experience in similar MEP installations in manufacturing construction projects and leading the MEP works.
- Thorough knowledge of installation and commissioning of utilities and utility setups.
- Thorough knowledge of dismantling and assembling large compressors.
- Thorough knowledge of maintenance of chilled water pumps, AHUs, HVAC systems, cooling towers and brine chillers.
- Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration and heating.
- Thorough knowledge of BMS systems.
- Ability to read and draw refrigeration circuits for troubleshooting.
- Ability to read drawings, engineering specifications and tolerances.
- Knowledge of PHE works and piping specifications.
- Knowledge of clean rooms and their requirements in terms of ISO standards, temperature and relative humidity, air changes, fresh-air systems, air balancing and filtration systems.
- Knowledge of positive- and negative-temperature cold rooms, HVAC operating logic, fire suppression systems and spill management systems.
- High-level problem-solving techniques using simple but effective quality tools.
- Ability to interact with and maintain good professional relationships with relevant cross-functional teams.
- Self-motivated, self-driven, open-minded and a good team player.
- Willingness to accept cultural changes and adapt to them with the least possible time.
Nice to have
- Relevant industry experience is preferable.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is an added advantage.
