Maintenance Engineer-2

Overview

Maintain utility and production equipment, diagnose and repair faults, minimize downtime, and support safe, efficient operations through preventive, breakdown and improvement activities.

What you'll do

• Operate and maintain utilities, including DG synchronizing panels, transformers, electrical installations, HVAC systems, STP, ETP and WTP.
• Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of production and utility equipment.
• Diagnose faults, lead repair efforts to minimize downtime, and conduct root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
• Provide technical expertise and manage contractor support.
• Ensure safety compliance and update maintenance documentation.
• Trace problems using circuit diagrams, service equipment, troubleshoot machines and repair them.
• Optimize maintenance procedures to improve machine performance.
• Prepare blueprints, technical diagrams and schematics.
• Ensure installations and applications meet customer needs and safety standards.
• Develop maintenance policies and procedures and respond to maintenance requests.
• Monitor maintenance and inspection plans.
• Read drawings, engineering specifications and tolerances.
• Prepare and give presentations using MS presentations and use Excel and MS Word.
• Meet departmental KPI targets for MTTR, MTBF and PM adherence.
• Read and write electrical circuit diagrams and SLDs.
• Work on PLC programming, create ladder diagrams in PLCs and troubleshoot PLC programs.
• Work with building management systems, business continuity plans and emergency preparedness.
• Apply 5S, Gemba, continual improvement projects, LEAN concepts and root cause analysis using quality tools.
• Prepare MIS reports for critical energy, water and waste parameters to meet department KPI objectives.
• Follow a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
• Demonstrate a self-directed and high-performance culture as a team player.

What you'll need

• BE or Diploma in Electrical engineering.
• 8 to 10 years of hands-on experience in the Maintenance department, especially in Operation and Maintenance, Preventive & Breakdown maintenance of Utility and production maintenance and spare parts management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and presentation; this is mandatory.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements and safety standards.
• Excellent organizational, time management and people skills.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Exposure to ISO and OHSAS standards and experience with internal and external audits.
• Experience of documentation work.
• Exposure to handling government agencies and local authorities or agencies.
• Knowledge of QMS systems such as ISO 14000, ISO 18001 and EMS.
• Self-motivated, self-driven, open-minded and a good team player.
• Willingness to accept cultural changes and adapt to them with the least possible time.
• Ability to interact and maintain good professional relationships with relevant cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification.
