About the Job
We are seeking a Malware Analyst to join our team on a Full-time basis in an OnSite work environment. In this role, you will investigate suspected malicious activity, analyze malware behaviors, and help improve detection and response outcomes. You’ll work with security engineering and incident response teams to understand threats end-to-end—from initial indicators through deeper reverse engineering—ensuring our defenses stay ahead of evolving adversaries.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on static and dynamic malware analysis to identify capabilities, persistence mechanisms, and indicators of compromise (IOCs).
- Develop and maintain detection logic using Java-based tooling where applicable, including parsing artifacts and automating triage workflows.
- Analyze threat artifacts such as executables, scripts, memory artifacts, logs, and network traces to support accurate classification and severity assessment.
- Document findings in clear technical reports, including behavioral summaries, attack flow hypotheses, and remediation guidance.
- Collaborate with incident responders to validate detections, assess impact, and support containment and eradication recommendations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by refining analysis playbooks, updating YARA/Sigma-style concepts, and sharing lessons learned.
- Stay current with malware trends, TTPs (tactics, techniques, and procedures), and emerging analysis methods.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong proficiency with Java for developing analysis utilities, automation scripts, or supporting tooling.
- Demonstrated experience conducting malware analysis using static analysis, dynamic analysis, and artifact triage methods.
- Working knowledge of common attacker techniques, including process injection, persistence, credential access patterns, and command-and-control behaviors.
- Ability to interpret and correlate signals across multiple sources (files, logs, network activity, and system behavior).
- Solid understanding of Windows and/or Linux internals sufficient to support reverse engineering and behavioral analysis.
- Excellent technical communication skills with the ability to produce structured, actionable reports.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a methodical approach to validating hypotheses.
