Overview

Manager, Data Science (Analytics) is a senior individual contributor analytics role within the eBay Live Buyer Experience team, supporting real-time livestream shopping.

What you'll do

• Own product analytics across the buyer journey from discovery through retention.
• Set measurement frameworks, success metrics, and measurement approaches for complex initiatives.
• Design and analyze A/B tests and controlled experiments, including metric selection and interpretation.
• Lead advanced analytical investigations using funnels, cohorts, segmentation, and statistical modeling.
• Apply causal inference and quasi-experimental techniques when randomized experimentation isn’t possible.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Design, and business leaders to influence product evolution.
• Mentor junior data scientists and raise analytical rigor across the team.

What you'll need

• 7–11 years of experience in data science, product analytics, or related analytics roles.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Hands-on expertise in product analytics, experimentation, and A/B testing.
• Strong understanding of statistics, experimental design, and causal inference.
• Experience applying advanced analytical or machine-learning techniques to large behavioral datasets.
• Ability to independently lead complex, ambiguous analytical problem spaces.
• Experience mentoring and developing junior analytics professionals.
