Job description

Overview

Lead engineering teams for onboard applications in remote control or safety, delivering customer value through product development, sustainment, modernization, and continuous improvement. Guide product direction, support next-generation onboard application initiatives, and promote modern and AI-enabled engineering practices with global engineering teams.

What you'll do

  • Build, coach, and develop high-performing engineering teams, with emphasis on employee engagement, career development, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Create an accountable, inclusive, and collaborative culture that enables employees to grow and deliver business outcomes.
  • Drive end-to-end program execution by managing resources, schedules, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder alignment across global engineering teams.
  • Apply strong product and customer domain knowledge to guide priorities, decisions, and next-generation onboard application initiatives.
  • Champion modern engineering practices, automation, quality engineering, and DevOps to improve delivery effectiveness.
  • Lead adoption of AI-enabled engineering tools and practices to improve productivity, quality, and development velocity.
  • Drive change management that helps teams adopt new technologies, processes, and ways of working while sustaining engagement and delivery.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for process, product, and technology improvements that enhance business value and customer outcomes.
  • Collaborate with global product, architecture, quality, and engineering stakeholders to achieve customer and business objectives.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Relentless commitment to building, coaching, and developing high-performing teams.
  • Ability to manage software programs, driving governance, resource planning, risk management, and cross-functional execution to meet business and release objectives.
  • Strong understanding of onboard and offboard applications, customer workflows, operational challenges, and business value.
  • Ability to influence adoption of new tools, processes, AI-enabled practices, and ways of working.
  • Ability to communicate directly, build alignment, and influence stakeholders across product and engineering organizations.
  • Demonstrated technical depth to guide engineering decisions and partner effectively with architects and technical leaders.
  • Create customer value every day by aligning engineering priorities with customer workflows and outcomes.
  • Drive timely decisions, remove barriers, and enable teams to deliver value quickly.
  • Encourage innovation and apply AI-enabled and modern engineering approaches to improve outcomes.
  • Build trust and alignment through transparent, constructive, and timely communication.
  • Deliver incremental value early and build momentum toward strategic objectives.

Nice to have

  • Experience in supporting automotive, machine applications, autonomy, or industrial software solutions.
  • Demonstrated success driving organizational transformation, engineering excellence, innovation, and AI-enabled productivity improvements.
  • Extensive expertise gained through ownership of complex software products and solutions.
  • Experience leading geographically distributed software and systems engineering teams.
