Manager, Software Engineering - AI

Overview

Lead an AI-focused software engineering team at Litmos, managing 3 to 6 engineers and QA, while spending at least 50% of your time directly contributing to the software.

What you'll do

• Manage a team of 3 to 6 individuals with mixed roles including software engineers and quality assurance.
• Ensure your team creates performant, testable, and well-thought-out software for the production environment.
• Guide the team in designing scalable solutions, using your experience and feedback to iterate on designs.
• Work closely with product management, UX/UI design, and QA to gather requirements, design solutions, and implement features.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, conduct code reviews, and mentor other engineers to uphold high coding standards.
• Implement and maintain robust testing strategies, using automated testing frameworks where appropriate.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends, and propose and implement improvements to the development process, tools, and practices.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for the content authoring tool, including design specifications, API documentation, and user guides.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of professional experience in software development.
• Full-stack development using C# and JavaScript frameworks such as React.
• In-depth understanding of AI technology, including LLMs.
• Understanding of SQL and SQL Server.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Demonstrated ability to manage software engineering teams.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and mentor junior team members.
• Demonstrated leadership and management skills.

• Postgres and CosmosDB.
• Alternative datastores/technologies such as OpenSearch, Redis, and Memcached.

• Salary range: ₹50,00,000 to ₹60,00,000 plus 15% bonus.
