Overview
The Material Planning Analyst-1 schedules, plans and oversees material procurement, production and delivery processes. The role manages supplier parts flow and supply-related issues to achieve dealer requirements and move parts from source to distribution on time.
What you'll do
- Participate in scheduling production and delivery processes in accordance with current productivity and cost efficiency standards.
- Develop and execute material planning for a product line to ensure material requirements for assigned programs are met within the allocated time frame.
- Organize the flow of materials within the manufacturing unit and transfers to and from inventory or warehouse.
- Generate forecasts and manage replenishment planning for parts and materials to meet specified service levels.
- Expedite parts from suppliers in line with business requirements to manage dealer first fill.
- Engage suppliers for the given profile, monitor delivery performance, and initiate supplier improvement processes if required.
- Resolve inbound grief with suppliers and other supply chain partners.
- Validate inventory levels, manage transport, and create and publish schedules to suppliers to meet dealer fill.
- Negotiate with suppliers and de-expedite parts to manage cost and avoid excess inventory.
- Work on, monitor and generate business reports using process tools and ERP, including SAP, S4, SPP, Syncron, Power BI, Tableau, Salesforce, SharePoint and MS Office.
- Validate supplier invoices against goods receipt and ensure timely payment to vendors.
- Provide updates on critical parts to the dealer.
- Manage dealer orders and run analysis.
- Update and maintain all process-related documents.
- Work on KPIs covering availability, back order/past due reduction and ETA coverage, and improve process performance.
- Take ownership and work independently, in teams and with co-workers and other functions to achieve results.
What you'll need
- Degree or equivalent experience desired.
- Decision Making and Critical Thinking: extensive experience in analyzing situations, evaluating decision options, assessing potential impacts and using consultative, command or consensus decision-making approaches.
- Problem Solving: extensive experience in recognizing, anticipating and resolving organizational, operational or process problems, including developing resolutions to critical or wide-impact problems.
- Relationship Management: working knowledge of establishing and maintaining working relationships with clients, vendors and peers.
- Internal Resource Coordination: extensive experience coordinating internal resources and business activities.
- Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP): working knowledge of DRP processes and operations.
- Manufacturing Requirements Planning (MRP): extensive experience optimizing manufacturing planning cycles and ensuring capacity and materials availability.
- Materials Handling and Management: working knowledge of storage, transportation and handling of raw and hazardous materials.
- Transportation - MFG: basic understanding of transporting materials and goods between suppliers, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities and customers.
- Ability to work on KPIs related to availability, back order/past due reduction, ETA coverage and process performance.
- Ability to work independently, in teams and with co-workers and other functions to achieve results.
Details
- Location: Bangalore, Karnataka.
- Work five days from the office.
- Should align to UK / Europe shift timings as per business requirement.
