Overview
Mechanical Design Engineer to design and develop mechanical parts, assemblies, and systems, including CAD modeling, drafting/drawings, documentation, and design analysis.
What you'll do
- Design and develop mechanical parts, assemblies, and systems with cross-functional teams.
- Create CAD models and prepare detailed drafting/drawings and documentation.
- Develop design concepts and conduct feasibility studies.
- Perform evaluations and analysis on designs with cross-functional support.
- Support designs across solid, machined, plastic parts, assemblies, packaging, and electro-mechanical components.
What you'll need
- Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks for part modeling, assembly modeling, and configurations.
- Experience with SolidWorks PDM or an equivalent PLM system.
- Strong understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
- Knowledge of tolerance stack-up analysis and engineering drawings.
- Experience with DFM (Design for Manufacturability), DFA (Design for Assembly), and materials selection.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and standard mechanical components.
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Experience in medical devices, robotics, industrial equipment, or other regulated industries.
- Exposure to FEA tools and engineering simulations.
- Experience with prototype development and testing.
- Familiarity with engineering change management (ECO/ECN/ECR).
