Mechanical Engineer - Pump Testing to validate centrifugal pump performance, safety, and integrity against API/ISO standards.

What you'll do

• Ensure test activities comply with safety protocols and industry standards (e.g., API, HI).
• Analyse test loop setup for pump performance testing and NPSH testing.
• Perform hydraulic performance and mechanical tests (vibration, bearings, seals, NPSH) on centrifugal pumps.
• Compare actual test results against design specifications and standards such as API 610 and ISO 9906.
• Verify component alignment, balancing, and fitment clearances.
• Calculate and plot testing parameters and determine impeller trimming/hydraulic modifications from test results.
• Analyse vibration/noise issues and identify root causes of failures or performance discrepancies.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
• 7–10 years of relevant experience in the centrifugal pump industry.
• Ability to demonstrate performance and NPSH testing calculations.
• Expertise in API 610, HI, and ISO standards for testing.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration with design/production teams.
• Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings (CAD), NDT methods, and data acquisition systems.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, operating manuals, maintenance instructions, and procedures.
