Overview

The Medical Documentation Specialist (MDS) documents patient encounters in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation that meets quality, confidentiality, and compliance standards.

What you'll do

• Accurately document patient encounters in EHR systems.
• Capture patient history, exam findings, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
• Review documentation for completeness, consistency, and accuracy before submission.
• Meet established turnaround time and productivity expectations for documentation.
• Provide documentation support across multiple specialties as assigned.
• Use EHRs and Commure documentation platforms, including Ambient AI tools.
• Maintain HIPAA and patient privacy/confidentiality and security requirements.
