Modeling Engineer 3

Overview

Modeling Engineer to develop physics-based thermal/CFD/chemistry models, correlate simulations to experiments, and support design decisions for semiconductor capital equipment components.

What you'll do

• Develop physics-based models for Thermal/CFD/Chemistry applications.
• Use DOE, optimization, and statistical/data-driven methods to correlate simulation data to experimental data.
• Provide design improvements based on quantitative field failure data and quality metrics.
• Write reports and present results to design teams and management.
• Partner with mechanical, electrical, process, and software engineers to define design requirements and testing/simulation plans.
• Build/run initiatives for continuous improvement in modeling capabilities and design.

What you'll need

• Minimum Master’s in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering with 10+ years of experience, or a PhD with 5+ years experience.
• Experience with commercial simulation software such as ANSYS Fluent, Star CCM+, or COMSOL (highly desirable).
• Strong closed-form solutions and analytical methods development.
• Understanding of fluid mechanics and heat transfer fundamentals.
• Knowledge of AI/ML concepts with hybrid physics-based AI/ML modeling software.
• Experience building and maintaining code for AI/ML models using simulation or test data (including ML tools like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit Learn).
• Knowledge/requirement for uncertainty quantification, Bayesian optimization, and probabilistic machine learning.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of chemistry, semiconductor metrology methods, and hardware designs in a vacuum environment.
