NC Programmer

Overview

Independently design, develop, and validate CNC programs for metal cutting machine tools, with responsibility for safety, quality, OTD, and process efficiency.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and validate CNC programs for CNC machine tools.
• Support CNC programmer team and gain technical knowledge through the work.
• Provide production support including machine and process troubleshooting.
• Control handling of CNC programs in the server and communicate to roll out jobs.
• Select appropriate tools and processes for given situations.
• Create CNC programs in CAM software (Esprit) using component drawing symbols, sections, and views.

What you'll need

• 0-2 years relevant experience OR HS Diploma/GED.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions or procedures.
• Proficiency creating/designing and editing Microsoft Excel files.
• Basic knowledge of CNC programming (lathe or drill programs) and CNC machine codes/languages.
• Ability to identify GD&T symbols and understand their effect on programming.
• Understand the imperial system (inches).

Details

• Create programs in Esprit by interpreting technical drawing symbols and views.
• Troubleshoot basic PC needs such as drive mapping and folder access/navigation.
• Correct routes: PS0021, SD0800, SF0010, Times, etc. in PRMS.
