Network Systems Engineer

Overview

Design, develop, test, deploy, operate and manage scalable data center network capabilities and infrastructure within Cisco’s Data Center Network Services team. Collaborate with engineers across multiple disciplines and internal clients to create high-quality network capabilities.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, test and deploy DC network capabilities within Data Center Network.
• Design, deploy, operate and manage scalable DC network infrastructure using Nexus OS.
• Collaborate with fellow engineers across multiple disciplines and internal clients.
• Design and operate Cisco hardware, including Nexus routers, ACI, ASA firewalls and FirePower NGFWs.
• Handle incident, problem and change management.

What you'll need

• Bachelor of Engineering or Technology.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in designing, deploying, operating and managing scalable DC network infrastructure using Nexus OS.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP internetworking, routing, switching, networking protocols and routing protocols.
• Hands-on experience designing and operating Cisco hardware, including Nexus routers, ACI, ASA firewalls and FirePower NGFWs.
• Experience with virtualization technologies, including networking technologies such as VRF and VDC, and understanding of compute technologies including Linux, VMware and OpenStack.
• Experience handling incident, problem and change management.
• Familiarity with DevOps principles and comfort with Agile practices.

Nice to have

• CCNP or CCIE.
• Expertise in enterprise and data center networking technologies.
• Expertise in the latest Cisco hardware and operating systems, including Catalyst, Nexus, IOS, IOS-XE, IOS-XR, NX-OS and ACI.
• Large-scale network infrastructure support skills and in-depth knowledge of network management, network availability and network automation.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of Git and REST API.
• Expert-level internetworking troubleshooting in a large-scale network environment.
• Experience with Agile methodology and CI/CD.
