Offer Engineer - Gas Insulated Switchgear

Overview

Join the GIS Primary Offer Engineering team at Hitachi Energy's India Operations Centre in Chennai, supporting Sales and Tendering engineers to prepare tender-specific engineering documents, drawings and cost calculations for Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) of transmission and sub-transmission systems.

What you'll do

• Prepare drawings and documents for customer submission for Gas Insulated Switchgear above 66kV.
• Prepare Gas SLD, GIS layout, cable tray layout, earthing layout, cabling overview and assembly overview.
• Perform system resistance, thermal loss, gas volume, earthing mat and cable calculations.
• Calculate bill of material and prepare cost estimation based on the BOM generated.
• Carry out self-review and review of peers' documents.
• Coordinate with other team members, Sales Support engineers and Area Sales Managers.
• Apply Design to value (DtV) to prepare optimized solutions considering customer requirements.
• Maintain and update documentation for respective projects and tenders as per the quality process.
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in EEE or Mechanical Engineering.
• 3-8 years of experience in tender or execution of substation projects, or HV/MV product design/development.
• Good knowledge of CAD tools (Creo and AutoCad).
• Familiarity with codes and standards such as IEC, IEEE, ANSI etc.
• Excellent knowledge of high voltage products and substations.
• Team player able to handle sales targets and prepare solutions on time.
• Excellent communication skills in English.

Nice to have

• German, French or Spanish language skills.

• Full-time position.
• Not remote.
• Individual contributor who also works in coordination with colleagues, and may interact with Secondary Engineering, Steel Structure Engineering, Project Management and Production units.
