Online Merchant Ops – Associate

Overview

Associate, Online Merchant Ops is an individual-contributor role focused on merchant onboarding and compliance checks, including KYB/KYC validation, risk assessment, and Video Customer Identification Process (VCIP).

What you'll do

• Validate and verify merchant KYB/KYC documents (PAN, GST, CIN, bank proof, address proof, and beneficial ownership details).
• Cross-check documents for completeness and authenticity against regulatory and internal compliance requirements.
• Detect discrepancies, mismatches, and forged/tampered documents, and escalate cases as required.
• Conduct merchant risk assessment for websites and mobile applications during onboarding.
• Review product listings, pricing, website content, and refund/return policies for policy or regulatory violations.
• Run VCIP sessions to verify identity, liveness, and document authenticity via video, and complete VCIP documentation within TAT.
• Process merchant cases per SOPs and ensure completion within defined SLA/TAT, maintaining daily trackers and quality benchmarks.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
• 1+ year of relevant experience in merchant onboarding, KYC/KYB, AML, risk operations, fraud operations, or related areas.
• Good understanding of KYC/KYB documentation and due diligence processes.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Google Sheets, and other MS Office tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with a process-driven, risk-aware approach.
• Ability to manage multiple cases within defined SLAs in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Exposure to VCIP, Video KYC, or video-based identity verification.
