Operational Buyer

Overview

Support the US2108 DTB Supply Chain team by executing supply chain management activities in a timely and proactive manner, ensuring customer expectations are met and contributing to the unit's profitability and operational efficiency.

What you'll do

• Process purchase requisitions and convert them into purchase orders (POs) in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Ensure timely placement of POs to meet operational and project requirements.
• Communicate with suppliers to confirm order details and delivery timelines, and work on exception messages from SAP.
• Monitor supplier performance and escalate issues as needed.
• Track order status and ensure on-time delivery of goods and services.
• Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams for smooth receipt of materials.
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable to ensure accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices.
• Resolve invoice mismatches and payment issues in coordination with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Resolve quality notifications assigned by the IQC team in a timely manner.
• Work closely with internal departments such as Planning, Engineering, Finance, and Quality to align procurement activities with business needs, and support cross-functional initiatives to improve the P2P process.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost savings, and participate in initiatives to enhance procurement efficiency and supplier collaboration.
• Perform standard and detailed analysis for planning and fulfillment metrics (inventory, on-time delivery, lead time, forecast accuracy, resource utilization).
• Collaborate closely with the operations planner, master schedule planner and material planner.
• Support scheduling of container deliveries to the Distribution Center and update the production schedule file with missing material information.
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

What you'll need

• Excellent skills in speaking, reading and writing English.
• Graduate in Engineering with minimum 3-5 years relevant experience in the Procurement function or as a Buyer, and in production planning.
• Familiarity with working in SAP MM and PP modules (creating PR, PO, etc.).
• Strong leadership skills and negotiation skills to convince vendors and stakeholders.
• Ability to work under pressure to deliver bought-out items on time, within cost and quality.
