Payroll Specialist

Overview

Payroll Specialist for Apex Group’s Global Payroll Operations team, supporting the EU region with dedicated focus on UK payroll.

What you'll do

• Deliver accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing for the EU region.
• Administer employee personal and payroll data across the full employee lifecycle in payroll vendor platforms.
• Execute procedural controls to maintain compliance with internal standards and business requirements.
• Validate and reconcile payroll processing reports to ensure timely compensation delivery.
• Respond as first point of contact and SME for payroll enquiries within agreed SLAs.
• Coordinate with the finance team to ensure payroll cost recognition in financial accounts.
• Create, review, and update payroll procedure documentation aligned to legislation and policy changes.

What you'll need

• Minimum 1–3 years end-to-end payroll processing experience.
• Demonstrable expertise in EU payroll processing.
• Knowledge of UK legislation, National Insurance contributions, statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP), and HMRC reporting obligations.
• Experience working with payroll vendor platforms.
• Proficiency in payroll data validation, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Ability to manage multiple payroll cycles simultaneously with strong attention to detail.
• Experience creating and maintaining payroll SOPs and process documentation.
