People Data Engineer

Overview

Build secure, scalable data products and data-lake capabilities for People Analytics, AI-enabled applications, automations and analytics. Partner with data scientists, application engineers and business stakeholders to deliver trusted, reusable data solutions.

What you'll do

• Design and operate a governed data lake for People Analytics.
• Build and maintain data pipelines using Python, SQL and Databricks.
• Ingest, transform and prepare data for analytics, AI and applications.
• Create curated datasets, data products, APIs and data-access patterns.
• Implement data-quality checks, monitoring, alerting and reconciliation.
• Support AI and LLM products with retrieval-ready datasets and controlled data access.
• Investigate pipeline failures, quality issues and performance bottlenecks.

What you'll need

• At least 2 years of professional experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, software engineering or a related technical field.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong SQL skills for analytical datasets.
• Practical Python experience in data processing, automation and pipelines.
• Experience building, testing and maintaining data pipelines or transformation workflows.
• Understanding of data modelling, quality, lineage, documentation and governance.
• Awareness of privacy, access controls and secure handling of sensitive data.

Nice to have

• Experience operating a data lake, lakehouse or governed data platform.
• Experience with Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, workflows, SQL warehouses or Unity Catalog.
• Experience with dbt, APIs, AI-enabled applications, Azure or workflow orchestration.
• Experience with HR data, security, privacy or compliance teams.
