Piping Engineer

Overview

Support technical design and engineering for plant piping and mechanical arrangement in combined-cycle power plant projects. Coordinate interfaces with engineering disciplines, customers, suppliers, and project partners.

What you'll do

• Represent the piping and arrangement engineering scope in project teams.
• Design in 2D or 3D and produce mechanical arrangement deliverables.
• Coordinate subcontracted engineering services and project interfaces.
• Develop layouts and arrangements for equipment and piping.
• Design concepts for underground networks, pressurized pipes, cable ducts, MCW, and firefighting systems.
• Provide input on complex technical problems and related project decisions.

What you'll need

• 0–2 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering.
• Design knowledge of GT, ST, generator, and HRSG plant piping and arrangement.
• Knowledge of design methods, rules, and tools for systems and components.
• Knowledge of relevant codes and standards including ANSI, ASME, NFPA, and IEC.
• Knowledge of controls-system and electrical interfaces.
• Knowledge of engineering, design, and project management tools such as AVEVA and Confluence.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Readiness to travel for workshop inspections.
• Problem analysis and resolution skills.
• Ability to negotiate and make presentations.
