Platform Software Engineer

Overview

Platform Software Engineer responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the platform capabilities and tooling to deploy, configure, and operate i2 products across multiple environments.

What you'll do

• Design, build, and maintain software and tooling for deployment and operation across desktop, on-premise, and cloud targets.
• Build production-grade container images and the interfaces they expose to hosting platforms.
• Own deployment and upgrade strategy for stateful distributed components, including recovery paths.
• Deliver releases across diverse/restricted environments and support upgrades for existing customer deployments.
• Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines and internal developer tooling.
• Instrument deployments and the delivery pipeline so decisions are made using data.
• Own the testing strategy for deployments and validate built outputs match specifications.

What you'll need

• Spec-first working style: interrogate requirements, record decisions/trade-offs, and define tests.
• Ability to decompose systems into components with clear responsibilities and boundaries.
• Experience shipping software to structurally different deployment targets.
• Container experience building and shipping production-grade images.
• Cloud deployment and Infrastructure-as-Code experience, specifically including AWS.
• Application security knowledge covering trust boundaries, identity models, and secrets handling.
• CI/CD pipeline experience building and maintaining them.
• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.

• Remote in the UK, with a monthly requirement to attend i2 Group offices in Cambridge.
