Overview
Platform Upgrade Operations Engineer to plan and run multi-week phased Salesforce managed-package upgrade rollouts across sandbox, UAT, and production.
What you'll do
- Plan and execute managed-package upgrades across sandbox, UAT, and Production environments.
- Run phased rollouts under a release calendar and manage sequenced steps and dependencies through production cutover.
- Perform rigorous pre- and post-upgrade backup comparisons to validate permissions and configurations and prevent incidents.
- Execute smoke testing and resolve/dispute post-upgrade incidents using repeatable data/metadata/backup-comparison methods.
- Coordinate UAT hand-offs and facilitate go/no-go governance checkpoints with smoke-test guides.
- Create controlled customer-facing upgrade materials and communicate schedule, risks, and status updates to customers and partners.
What you'll need
- Strong Salesforce knowledge, including the ability to read and understand Salesforce code.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Salesforce administration and configuration knowledge.
- Experience executing managed-package upgrade execution plans across environments.
- Fluency in release trains, versioning, and dependencies to de-risk cutovers.
- Ability to validate configurations and permissions before and after upgrades.
- Experience using Copado tooling (including Copado Robotic Testing/CRT), scripting, and automation.
