Overview
Principal Audio Software Engineer (DSP) within Harman Research’s Immersive Audio Team, advancing audio technologies from research to prototype and product readiness.
What you'll do
- Design and implement audio DSP algorithms on embedded audio platforms such as Linux, Android, or Tizen.
- Architect and develop Linux-based audio applications on embedded devices.
- Evaluate state-of-the-art audio DSP algorithms and adapt them for new technologies.
- Lead end-to-end development from new concepts through proof-of-concept, benchmarking, optimization, and transfer for commercialization readiness.
- Own technical alignment with research, software, systems, validation, and product teams for key technology developments.
- Define and drive qualification of audio algorithm performance using testing frameworks and validation methods.
- Write technical reports, white papers, and patent applications.
What you'll need
- Minimum BSc degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Acoustics, etc.).
- Minimum 8 years of relevant industry experience.
- Software development experience on embedded platforms using C/C++.
- Audio processing experience using MATLAB.
- Real-time audio signal processing algorithm design and implementation experience.
- SDK experience for audio processing development (JUCE or equivalent).
- Agile software development process experience.

- Location: Garching - Bavaria, Germany (Parking 1-5 Business Campus).
- Work mode: Hybrid; on-site 3 days a week.
- Travel: Up to 10% of the time.
