Principal Cloud Engineer - Azure & GCP

Overview

Lead cloud engineering work for MiniMed's Diabetes business from the Global Diabetes Capability Center in Pune, designing and configuring systems on Azure and GCP.

What you'll do

• Develop, document and configure system specifications that conform to defined architecture standards and address business requirements and processes.
• Plan system and development deployments and meet hardware and software compliance and security standards.
• Evaluate the interface between hardware and software, operational requirements and overall system characteristics.
• Establish and document system design, parameters and formats, and ensure hardware and software functionality, performance and compatibility.
• Identify system functionality or performance deficiencies, execute changes to existing systems and test functionality to correct them.
• Document testing and maintenance of system updates, modifications and configurations.
• Act as a liaison with key technology vendor technologists and other business functions.
• Strategically design technology solutions that meet the needs and goals of the company and its users.
• Assess whether existing standard platform functionality will solve a business problem or whether a customization solution is required.
• Gather and prioritize integration requirements.
• Test the quality of a product and its ability to perform a task or solve a problem.
• Perform basic maintenance and performance optimization procedures on each primary operating system.
• Define technological solutions to real-life problems using computational thinking and design technology for optimal user experience and broad accessibility.
• Document detailed technical system specifications based on business system requirements.
• Deliver and oversee assigned projects from design to implementation, adhering to policies.
• Mentor colleagues or direct the work of lower-level professionals.

What you'll need

• 7+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree, or 5+ years of experience with an advanced degree, or 12+ years of experience with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Mastery of a specialty area and full knowledge of industry practices, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
