What you'll do
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance services for derivative trade lifecycle management, valuation, pricing, risk, collateral, and reporting.
- Own the technical design of new modules and features, including architecture, data models, APIs, and integration patterns.
- Build cloud-native microservices and data pipelines using containers and managed services.
- Model and process derivative products including swaps, swaptions, caps/floors, CDS, FX forwards/options/NDFs and lifecycle events including resets, fixings, amendments, novations, terminations, and compressions.
- Write clean, testable, well-documented code and take part in code and design reviews.
- Improve the performance, resilience, and observability of production systems and help resolve complex production issues.
- Mentor junior engineers and help raise engineering standards.
- Work closely with product, quants, and operations to turn complex financial workflows into reliable, well-designed software.
What you'll need
- 6–12 years of software development experience, with at least 2 years in derivative asset classes (IRD, CRD, FXD, or equivalent).
- Strong hands-on skills in Java (8/11/17+) and/or Python 3.x.
- Hands-on cloud development experience on AWS including containers (Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Excellent design skills in OOP, SOLID, design patterns, domain-driven design, microservices, event-driven architecture, and REST/gRPC API design.
- Working knowledge of derivative concepts including pricing and valuation basics, curves, trade lifecycle, and clearing/margining.
- Proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB, etc.) and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar).
- Strong unit, integration, and automated testing practices.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills, and the ability to work with business stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Working knowledge of both Java and Python.
- Experience with frameworks such as Spring Boot and FastAPI.
- Experience with distributed computing and low-latency design.
