Principal Engineer

Overview

Lead the technical architecture and standards for DevX’s agentic and GenAI platform. The role focuses on building secure, observable, reproducible, and compliant platform solutions.

What you'll do

• Define reference architectures for agent skills, tools, orchestration, retrieval, and observability.
• Set service-level objectives for latency, quality, and cost.
• Establish technical standards, design patterns, and reference implementations.
• Solve complex technical challenges across the platform stack.
• Build and maintain core platform capabilities with production-grade code quality.
• Implement guardrails including human-in-the-loop controls, prompt lineage, audit logs, and reproducibility.
• Mentor junior engineers and create developer documentation, runbooks, and reference examples.

What you'll need

• Expertise in technical architecture for agentic or GenAI platforms.
• Knowledge of orchestration, retrieval, observability, and platform components.
• Ability to make technology decisions involving frameworks, architecture patterns, and performance.
• Experience defining code quality, testing, and observability strategies.
• Knowledge of Responsible AI controls, including data minimization, privacy, PII, and bias monitoring.
• Ability to document technical standards and maintain decision logs.
