Principal Engineer - System Programmer & Database Engineer

Overview

Principal Engineer responsible for leading system programming and database engineering work, including design, development, and troubleshooting in Windows and .NET/C# environments for networking domain efforts.

What you'll do

• Lead design and development of significant and technically challenging efforts across program/product areas.
• Define architectural standards, tools, and methodologies for technical consistency and quality.
• Identify and apply new technologies to improve overall systems.
• Collaborate with senior development and functional teams to share knowledge and simplify/integrate products.
• Work with management on software engineering governance and performance management processes.
• Help define, develop, and deliver training and education for systems users and engineering stakeholders.
• Identify proprietary intellectual property and recommend patent applications.

What you'll need

• Solid technical knowledge in C# programming and .NET for the networking domain.
• Good working knowledge building, debugging, and troubleshooting on a Windows environment.
• BA/BS degree and 8+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent education/experience).
• Experience leveraging subject matter expertise to lead design/development efforts.
• Skills listed include data integration/ETL and data warehousing concepts.
• Database-related familiarity including SQL Server and Oracle (Kafka and Elastic Search are listed as added advantage).

Nice to have

• Experience with Unisys Clear Path MCP/OS 2200 systems.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Added advantages include Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and Elastic Search.
