Principal Engineer — Python is a must

Overview

Lead the architecture, development, and modernization of malware analysis and cybersecurity platforms spanning Python analysis pipelines, message-driven orchestration, Windows VM sandboxes, and web interfaces.

What you'll do

• Own the end-to-end architecture of SonicSandbox and UrlProtection platforms.
• Design and deliver detection capabilities across both products.
• Define coding standards, testing practices, and technical debt priorities.
• Manage software delivery from solution design through deployment.
• Monitor platform health and lead incident response and root-cause resolution.
• Mentor two Senior Software Engineers.
• Partner with cross-functional teams on technical initiatives.

What you'll need

• At least 10 years of software engineering experience, or equivalent degree-based experience requirements.
• Expert Python skills, including asyncio, aiohttp, FastAPI, multithreading, and distributed task processing.
• Strong C and C++ experience maintaining compiled software components.
• Experience with KVM/libvirt or comparable virtualization technologies.
• Deep knowledge of malware analysis, sandboxing, cybersecurity platforms, or related security software.
• Production experience deploying machine learning inference workloads.
• Knowledge of MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Redis, MongoDB, Consul, Docker, and Docker Compose.

Nice to have

• Experience building or supporting production-scale headless browser automation pipelines.
