Overview
Serve as a Principal Engineer and expert advisor to leadership, developing and influencing technology solutions for highly complex business and technical needs across multiple groups and the enterprise.
What you'll do
- Act as an advisor to leadership on applications, network, information security, database, operating systems, or web technologies for highly complex business and technical needs.
- Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise.
- Deliver long-term, large-scale solutions requiring vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical thinking, and inductive thinking.
- Translate advanced technology experience, business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, organization structure, and strategic technology opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutions.
- Provide vision, direction, and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions.
- Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommend innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage.
- Strategically engage with professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership.
What you'll need
- 7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education.
Nice to have
- Define and drive enterprise architecture and engineering standards for networking and application delivery.
- Design, implement, and optimize solutions using F5 BIG-IP (LTM/GTM/DNS/WAF) and AVI Load Balancers.
- Lead infrastructure modernization and cloud adoption initiatives across hybrid environments.
- Provide technical leadership for high-availability, scalability, security, and resiliency improvements.
- Partner with application, platform, cloud, and security teams to deliver reliable infrastructure solutions.
- Drive automation through Infrastructure as Code and DevOps practices.
- Mentor engineers and influence technology strategy across the organization.
- Expert knowledge of F5 BIG-IP and AVI Load Balancer platforms.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, SSL/TLS, and application networking.
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and container platforms (OpenShift/Kubernetes).
- Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Python, or CI/CD pipelines.
- Proven ability to lead large-scale infrastructure initiatives and influence enterprise architecture decisions.
- Strong debugging and production support skills to drive and resolve highly visible production incidents.

- F5, VMware, Cisco, or Cloud certifications.
- Experience with WAF, Global Load Balancing, Zero Trust, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
