Principal Engineer

Overview

Principal Engineer for aerospace structural analysis, performing calculations and FEA to evaluate aircraft components and assemblies within an integrated engineering team.

What you'll do

• Perform structural analysis of aircraft components and assemblies.
• Run load calculations including static strength, fatigue, damage tolerance, buckling, and vibration as applicable.
• Evaluate structural integrity using classical hand calculations and FEA.
• Develop and validate FEA models and interpret results.
• Develop FBDs, load paths, interface loads, and internal load distributions.
• Prepare strength check notes and formal stress reports.
• Lead technical problem solving, root-cause analysis, and structural optimization.

What you'll need

• 12–16 years of relevant aerospace structural analysis experience.
• BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of solid mechanics, structural mechanics, machine design, and aircraft structures.
• Experience with Nastran/Patran, HyperMesh, or equivalent FEA tools.
• Knowledge of fatigue, damage tolerance, buckling, and structural substantiation.
• Good knowledge of metallic and composite materials and structural analysis.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
