Principal Engineer- HIG HBM Layout

Overview

As a Principal/MTS Engineer, you will be part of the HIG HBM Team in Hyderabad, India, designing and developing complex Application-Specific Integrated Circuits for High Bandwidth Memories used in intensive applications such as artificial intelligence and high performance computing.

What you'll do

• Design and develop complex Application-Specific Integrated Circuits to meet product specifications and requirements for High Bandwidth Memories.
• Participate in standards committees, represent Micron, and stay informed about industry developments.
• Lead the establishment and growth of a layout team to meet Micron’s global HBM layout requirements.
• Drive AI-powered layout automation and methodology innovation to improve engineering efficiency, reduce manual effort, and accelerate high-quality layout execution.
• Analyze and optimize IC layout architecture for performance, power, and area.
• Generate and communicate specifications within the design team and to external customers.
• Assist customers in implementing Micron’s products.
• Lead the timely development of analog and custom layouts.
• Organize tasks, allocate resources, and manage logistics for multiple projects.
• Lead team performance, development, hiring, and retention.
• Contribute to the overall success of the Micron India operation as a critical member of the HBM leadership team in India.

What you'll need

• 18 + year experience in analog/custom layout in advanced CMOS process.
• Minimum 4+ years developing teams and project experience.
• Experience in leading multiple project and Tape-out.
• Expertise in Cadence VLE/VXL and Calibre DRC/LVS.
• Layout automation and methodology development experience.
• TSMC N3 experience.
• Strong skills in layout, floor planning, and manual routing.
• Strong ability to build and continuously develop a premier analog/mixed-signal layout team.
• Experience running multiple Custom IC layout projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a multi-functional, multi-site team environment in multiple time zones.
• Proven ability to use AI-assisted (vibe) coding techniques to improve efficiency or automate design and analysis methodologies.
• Ability to leverage AI tools to automate tools and workflow.
• Ability to apply Artificial Intelligence in workflows to improve build efficiency.
• BE or MTech in Electronic/VLSI Engineering.
