Principal Engineer - HVAC (MEP)

Overview

Principal Engineer - HVAC (MEP) for HVAC design engineering within a consulting environment and a global design center delivering international projects.

What you'll do

• Design chilled water plants and distribution systems.
• Develop airside HVAC systems including critical cooling systems (CRAH/CRAC).
• Handle ventilation, pressurization, and smoke management systems.
• Perform HVAC load calculations, equipment selection, and produce design reports and technical specifications.
• Independently lead HVAC design packages and provide technical oversight.
• Manage design quality through technical reviews, client interactions, and delivery.
• Lead and mentor engineering teams across concept design through construction support.

What you'll need

• 12-15 years of HVAC design engineering experience in a consulting environment.
• 6-7 years of experience working in a Global Design Center (GDC) delivering international projects.
• Proficiency in Carrier HAP for cooling and heating load calculations (mandatory).
• Working knowledge of IES-VE for energy modeling and building performance analysis.
• Strong understanding of ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, IMC, and other international design codes/standards.
• Knowledge of Revit MEP, AutoCAD, BIM workflows, and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Experience with design documentation including construction documentation.

Nice to have

• Proven experience in Data Center and/or Healthcare facility design.
