Principal Engineer (L2, L3 Protocol Development, Switching/Routing)

Overview

Lead development of embedded network software for Marvell packet processors and SONiC/SAI-based data-center and enterprise networking products.

What you'll do

• Lead software development from requirements and architecture through implementation, testing, and maintenance.
• Develop switching and routing solutions for data-center and enterprise networks.
• Set project goals and schedules with distributed engineering teams.
• Coordinate with architecture, development, QA, system test, product management, documentation, and customer teams.
• Lead projects across multiple locations.
• Mentor and train team members.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with 8–15 years of related professional experience.
• Master’s degree and/or PhD in Computer Science or a related field with 5–10 years of experience.
• Strong knowledge of L2 and L3 Ethernet switching and routing protocols.
• Experience programming in C, C++, or Python.
• Experience developing software for embedded switch or router systems.
• Experience architecting scalable Linux-based embedded products.
• Experience with L2/L3 protocols and networking areas including BGP, OSPF, VLAN, VxLAN, ACL, QoS, and TCAM.
