Principal Engineer - SRE

Overview

Principal Engineer - SRE is a hands-on individual contributor role providing technical leadership for site reliability challenges in a Kubernetes-native, AWS-hosted platform.

What you'll do

• Own reliability and availability of core platform infrastructure including Kubernetes clusters, ArgoCD deployments, PostgreSQL databases, and AWS services.
• Plan and execute infrastructure maintenance including upgrades, patching, and validation.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling, including automating Terraform workflows.
• Build and enhance monitoring, alerting, and observability to reduce detection and resolution time.
• Troubleshoot and resolve live production incidents and complex cross-system issues.

What you'll need

• 9+ years of professional engineering experience, including significant time in a principal-level or equivalent individual contributor role.
• Hands-on experience in site reliability engineering, infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering.
• Experience operating production Kubernetes environments including lifecycle, networking, storage, RBAC, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience running critical AWS workloads including EC2, EKS, RDS, IAM, VPC, S3, and CloudWatch.
• Experience with observability tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK.
• Strong programming and scripting ability in Python (Bash, Go, or Java is a plus).
