Principal Software Development Engineer - Golang/Python + Networking

Overview

Principal Software Development Engineer focused on building and optimizing high-performance network system architecture and security features.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and optimize network system architecture and security features for mission-critical applications.
• Partner with architects, product managers, solution architects, and customers to understand complex use cases and review PRDs.
• Author design and functional specifications while driving unit testing and automation for product quality.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve system-level issues and optimize data path performance.
• Apply advanced design principles and debugging expertise to coach junior team members and maintain compliance with federal security certifications.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of experience in system engineering for high-performance networking.
• Linux kernel-based networking expertise (L2/L3), including stateful firewalls and NAT.
• Experience with routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, PIM) and protocols such as VLAN, DHCP, DNS, SSL, DTLS, QUIC, IPsec, GRE, and WireGuard.
• Proficiency in Go and Python for debugging complex data path issues.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to design scalable systems.
