Principal Software Development Engineer, Post Trade

Overview

Lead the architecture, development, and delivery of scalable, low-latency brokerage systems for post-trade engineering. The role focuses on Java/Golang services, trading systems, and technical leadership.

What you'll do

• Architect and deliver high-performance brokerage systems using Java and Golang.
• Design, develop, and maintain REST APIs and microservices.
• Support trading and backend systems across multiple asset classes.
• Analyze application and service performance and provide technology solutions.
• Develop automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers.
• Support system integration, testing, scripting, and troubleshooting.

What you'll need

• At least 10 years of software engineering experience.
• Expertise in Java.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with REST APIs, Kafka, and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of test-driven development and automated testing.
• Background in financial technology or capital markets.
• Experience with SQL, NoSQL, cloud platforms, and highly available architectures.

Nice to have

• Multiple years of fintech experience in post trade, payments, or SaaS.

Details

• Remote in Austin, Dallas, Denver, Miami, San Francisco Bay Area, or Seattle.
• Chicago-based employees work in the office three days per week.
• Pay range: $250,000–$280,000 yearly.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
