Principal Software Development Engineer, Execution Services

Overview

Principal Software Development Engineer on the Execution Services Engineering team, building ultra-low-latency, high-throughput trading systems and APIs.

What you'll do

• Own technical architecture, design, and delivery for high performance, low-latency brokerage systems.
• Assess application and database health/performance and provide technology solutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain REST APIs and microservices.
• Support and enhance trading/back-end systems for multiple asset classes.
• Analyze service/application performance and improve systems using programming tools and techniques.
• Develop automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the engineering team.

What you'll need

• At least 10 years of software engineering experience.
• Expertise in Java.
• Understanding of Test Driven Development and writing unit/integration tests.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD and automated testing frameworks.
• Experience building robust REST APIs and event-driven architectures with Kafka and Kubernetes.
• Background in financial technology or capital markets is required.

Details

• Open to candidates in New York City, Chicago, Austin, Dallas, Denver, Miami, San Francisco Bay Area, or Seattle.
• If based in New York or Chicago: expected in the office 3 days a week on a team/hiring-manager cadence.
• If based in Austin, Dallas, Denver, Miami, San Francisco, or Seattle: fully remote; may need occasional onsite visits.
• Pay range: $250,000–$270,000 USD.
