Tech Lead, Benefits Engineering

Overview

Tech Lead for WEX Benefits Engineering, providing hands-on technical leadership for design, development, and modernization of software powering employee benefits.

What you'll do

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and help establish engineering practices.
• Lead architecture, technical design, planning, and implementation of complex software solutions.
• Translate business and customer needs into scalable, maintainable, and secure solutions.
• Guide teams building cloud-native, distributed, event-driven applications and services.
• Partner with Product, Architecture, Engineering, and stakeholders to define technical approaches and manage risks/dependencies.
• Review designs and code for quality, scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability; remain hands-on with development.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with demonstrated technical leadership.
• Proven experience leading technical design and delivery of complex software systems.
• Strong experience with C# and .NET / ASP.NET and modern software development practices.
• Strong experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and designing API-driven architectures.
• Strong proficiency with React and/or Angular and modern web application development.
• Experience with distributed, event-driven systems including Kafka or similar event-streaming technologies.
• Cloud-native application/service experience in AWS and/or Azure.

• Location: US - Remote.
• Pay range: $140,600.00 - $173,100.00 (base pay range).
