Overview
Build an API interface to access transaction datasets residing in a data warehouse. Create high-performance API solutions and lead the analysis, design, development, delivery, maintenance, and technical direction of software solutions.
What you'll do
- Write high-quality, secure code that is modular, functional, and testable.
- Design and build technical roadmaps and guide development staff on adoption.
- Lead day-to-day system development and maintenance activities to meet service level agreements (SLAs).
- Create solutions with high innovation, cost effectiveness, high quality, and faster time to market.
- Maintain strong ownership of the team's software and understand its maintenance characteristics, runtime properties, and dependencies, including hardware, operating system, and build.
- Investigate and troubleshoot customer-reported issues.
- Propose solutions that meet customer, architectural, and business requirements.
- Conduct technical interviews for hiring engineering staff and raise the performance bar.
- Coach other technical resources.
- Communicate, collaborate, and work effectively in a global environment.
What you'll need
- Proficiency in the architecture, design, and implementation of microservices and distributed, scalable systems.
- Extensive experience with API-based platforms.
- Expert programming skills in Java, microservice development, and JUnit.
- Expertise with Spring Cloud, Spring Boot, and Tomcat.
- Skills working with SQL and NoSQL persistence technologies, such as Postgres, Oracle, and MongoDB.
- Proficiency in software development test approaches and frameworks, including ATDD/BDD, unit tests, Cucumber, and Spock.
- Expertise working with cloud hosting technologies such as PCF and Azure.
- Command of CI/CD principles and tools such as Maven, Jenkins, and Chef.
- Expertise in identifying performance bottlenecks and developing novel ways to solve them.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Leadership, initiative, and willingness to take on challenging opportunities.
- High motivation and interest in cultivating a high-performance team environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
- Abide by Mastercard's security policies and practices.
- Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of accessed information.
- Report any suspected information security violation or breach.
- Complete all periodic mandatory security trainings in accordance with Mastercard's guidelines.
