Principal Software Engineer - AIML, ITC

Overview

Principal Software Engineer for the Data & AI (DAI) team at Nike, working on large-scale data and AI platform architecture, implementation, and leadership.

What you'll do

• Lead architectural vision, technical design, and implementation of complex data and AI platforms.
• Champion best practices for software development, agentic AI systems, and ML cloud infrastructure.
• Mentor and coach senior engineers to build a culture of technical excellence.
• Collaborate with global product and business stakeholders on technology roadmaps.
• Drive adoption of automation, CI/CD, MLOps/DevOps, test-driven development, and agile frameworks.
• Oversee end-to-end project lifecycle from requirements through monitoring and optimization.
• Ensure security, privacy, and compliance standards are met and risks are mitigated.

What you'll need

• 12+ years of progressive software engineering experience.
• At least 5 years in a senior leadership or principal engineer capacity.
• Experience building, deploying, and scaling AI platforms, distributed systems, and AI cloud-native architectures.
• Hands-on experience with AWS SageMaker, DataBricks, Azure ML, or GCP Vertex AI.
• Advanced proficiency in Python, Java, Scala, or Go.
• Proven track record deploying large-scale ML models into production.
• Strong DevOps skills, including automation, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (IaC).
