Principal Software Engineer

Overview

Principal Software Engineer to define and lead long-term technical architecture and execution for a key global platform at Xometry.

What you'll do

• Set standards for AI-native development and coach engineers integrating AI tooling into architecture and delivery.
• Lead architectural design and technical direction across multi-team systems to meet enterprise-grade standards.
• Introduce architectural patterns adopted as organizational standards.
• Solve complex challenges involving data gravity, security, and cross-team system coupling.
• Define code review and engineering quality standards and mentor engineers through reviews and discussions.
• Own strategic technical direction and execution for multi-quarter roadmaps and operational standards.
• Act as the primary technical point of contact between the Bangalore team and global engineering leadership.

What you'll need

• 12+ years of professional software development experience leading complex, multi-quarter initiatives.
• Expertise in Python for backend services and APIs.
• Expertise in React/TypeScript for frontend.
• Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Fluency with modern AI development tools and ability to coach others in adopting them effectively.
• Experience with system architecture, microservices design, and distributed systems across multiple teams.
