Principal Software Engineer

Overview

Principal Software Engineer responsible for the architecture, performance, and reliability of the F5 Connector's data and control planes. Build high-performance, systems-level software connecting customer infrastructure with F5 cloud-native SaaS services.

What you'll do

• Architect and build reliable, available, and scalable platforms.
• Own the end-to-end architecture of the F5 Connector.
• Develop high-throughput packet processing, traffic inspection, and telemetry collection.
• Implement policy synchronization, configuration management, and service registration.
• Drive the team's technical roadmap with Engineering and Product.
• Mentor engineers and establish coding practices and guidelines.
• Perform code reviews and support software deployment and maintenance.

What you'll need

• 12+ years of software engineering experience.
• At least 3 recent years as an Architect or Principal Engineer.
• Experience designing large-scale enterprise platforms using microservices.
• Hands-on Rust or C++ coding experience.
• Knowledge of OpenTelemetry Arrow Protocol for telemetry transport.
• Understanding of bidirectional gRPC streaming, flow control, and back-pressure.
• Experience across the software development lifecycle.

Nice to have

• Experience with Apache Arrow columnar memory format.
