Overview
Principal Software Engineer responsible for delivering complex, high-impact software solutions and providing deep technical leadership to engineering efforts.
What you'll do
- Engineer and maintain complex database and microservices-based solutions using modern cloud and web technologies.
- Lead engineering of Lab applications supporting new business initiatives.
- Build and maintain RESTful services, and GraphQL where applicable, for system integration.
- Code, test, and implement software using high-performance, loosely coupled systems with strong test coverage.
- Establish technical standards, system patterns, and best practices across teams.
- Mentor engineers and perform proactive system reviews for improvements, automation, and reliability, including RCAs when needed.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and continuous improvement activities.
What you'll need
- 6+ years of IT experience, including at least 4 years building front-end and/or back-end systems.
- Strong experience with microservices, REST/GraphQL, APIs, cloud technologies, and containerization (Docker).
- Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
- Experience working with AWS required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Backend expertise in Spring and/or Micronaut (preferred) and frontend expertise in TypeScript and React/NestJS (preferred).
- Strong OWASP security knowledge and authentication/authorization patterns.
