Principle Software Engineer (Remote, United Kingdom)

Overview

Principal Engineer for the TM1 Maps team, building and operating B2B mapping services for Ticketmaster in a permanent remote role in the United Kingdom.

What you'll do

• Lead technical design and delivery of scalable, maintainable application components for the TM1 Maps platform.
• Shape platform architecture with focus on reliability, simplicity, observability, and long-term maintainability.
• Partner with Product and UX to translate product goals into well-scoped technical plans.
• Build and improve micro-frontends and backend services using React, TypeScript, Java, and Spring Boot.
• Develop and operate services on AWS and Kubernetes.
• Promote quality via automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring/alerting, performance tuning, and recovery automation.
• Mentor engineers and help troubleshoot complex production issues; participate in on-call support rotation.

What you'll need

• Strong professional experience building and operating production software systems.
• Strong Java development skills, including experience with Spring Boot.
• Frontend experience with React, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Experience with NodeJS and Express.
• Experience designing shared services/APIs and distributed applications.
• Experience with microservices or event-driven architecture.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling such as Maven, GitLab CI, or similar.
