Process Detailing Engineer

Overview

Process Detailing Engineer responsible for reviewing, approving, and validating P&IDs, heat & mass balance-related calculations, and mechanical/electrical package sizing and takeoffs for engineering projects.

What you'll do

• Read and understand P&ID documents and heat and mass balance diagrams.
• Review and approve P&IDs and provide markups per project specifications.
• Perform sanity checks on P&IDs for pressure, flow, and storage level requirements.
• Review and approve sizing/velocity check calculations for fluids and mechanical equipment.
• Review and approve MOCs, piping specifications, and equipment/valve/electrical load lists.
• Coordinate takeoffs, facility arrangements, and fabrication drawing reviews with design modelers and teams.
• Lead project teams, manage project schedule/budgets, and address customer and commissioning comments.

What you'll need

• 8–12 years experience (min–max specified).
• Basic understanding of P&ID and ability to read heat and mass balance diagrams.
• Understanding of pretreatment, filtration, and post treatment (as stated).
• Hands-on ability to interpret heat & mass balance requirements on P&ID line flows.
• Understanding of applicable codes and standards including ASME, ASTM, API, and DIN.
• Engineering degree in Mechanical or Chemical, or a Master’s in Mechanical or Chemical.
