Overview
Product Engineer for Manufacturing Operations, owning product readiness and ongoing health from factory development through mass production.
What you'll do
- Own a factory product by gathering manufacturing, test, and yield concerns and fixing them before each build.
- Sign off that the product is ready to move to the next stage of development.
- In mass production, deliver engineering changes with minimal disruption.
- Qualify new components and second-source manufacturers and manage yield/field failure root-cause.
- Lead cross-functional root-cause investigations for field failures traced to manufacturing gaps.
- Run engineering changes across manufacturers, including BOM/PLM updates, cut-in planning, validation, and monitoring field failures/RMA.
- Define manufacturing requirements and validation data within development phase reviews.
What you'll need
- Carry a hardware product from early builds through mass production at a contract manufacturer or ODM.
- Set up or improve assembly and test processes and drive yield, quality, and schedule commitments.
- Use structured manufacturing and root-cause methods such as DFM, FMEA, SPC, or 8D.
- Write a product-specific test plan and judge whether test coverage is sufficient.
- Communicate clearly with partner engineering/operations teams and leadership via readouts.
- Be willing to travel to partner sites up to 50% of the time.
- Have a degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Materials Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

- Location and work mode: Remote-Friendly, United States; hybrid policy expects staff in an office at least 25% of the time.
- Travel: Up to 50% to partner factories in the US and abroad.
